Products & Process
Are your products 100% natural?
Yes, our perfumes are all-natural. We follow ISO standard 9235 on natural perfumery materials.
What’s your manufacturing process?
We personally make our perfumes in small batches in Virginia. Once we’ve made our perfume concentrate, we allow it to sit for at least 2 months, then dilute the perfumes with alcohol and allow them to sit for at least 1 - 2 months. After they’re ready, we chill filter them until they’re clear and pass stability testing, and then we bottle, label, and package them by hand.
How long do your perfumes last on skin?
Because each person’s skin chemistry impacts how long a perfume will last on them, it’s hard to say. However, our fragrances have a long stance because we formulate them with longevity in mind. They won’t typically last as long as synthetic (mixed media) fragrances will, but you should get several hours of wear from a light spraying of our fragrances. To help them last even longer, we recommend spraying on moisturized skin.
Can I spray your perfume on my clothes or hair?
You can, but please remember that natural perfumes can stain light-colored clothing and temporarily stain light-colored hair. We recommend spraying only on darker clothing and doing a test spray in an inconspicuous area before spraying more liberally.
Is it safe to use your perfumes if I’m pregnant or nursing?
We’d recommend consulting your physician before using our perfumes in this case.
Are your perfumes non-toxic?
Our perfumes are non-toxic and free from synthetics, phthalates, parabens, formaldehydes, and nitromusks.
Can you send an electronic gift card directly to the recipient?
Yes, we can! To request this:
1) From the top menu, click on Gift Cards..
2) Click on the denomination that you’d like to give.
3) Click on the checkbox next to “I want to send this as a gift” and a number of additional text fields will open up.
4) Provide the recipient email address, recipient name (optional), a gift message (optional), and click on “Send on (optional)” to select a different date if you don’t want the gift card to be sent immediately on check out.
5) When you’ve completed step 4, click “Add to Cart” and check out as normal.
6) The gift card will be emailed to the recipient immediately or on the day you selected, if applicable, along with your gift message.
Shipping & Returns
Where do you ship?
At this time, we ship only within the continental United States. Ground shipping is free within the continental U.S. on purchases of $50 or more.
We do not currently ship to Alaska or Hawaii, but we’ll update this section if that ever changes.
How long will it take to receive my purchase?
Unless otherwise noted in our header, we typically ship orders within 48 hours and most packages arrive within 5 to 8 business days. So, packages will usually arrive within a total of 7 to 10 business days from date of purchase.
What’s your returns and exchanges policy?
Due to the nature of our products, we’re unable to accept returns or exchanges. We recommend ordering individual samples or our discovery set before purchasing a larger bottle. For more information, see our Refund Policy page.
Bespoke Services
Can you make me a custom fragrance?
We do offer custom fragrance (bespoke) services. To find out more, click on the Bespoke Services page.
How much does it cost to have a custom fragrance made?
The development of a custom fragrance costs a minimum of $3,500. You can read more about it on the Bespoke Services page; I’ll send you a process map explaining each step in the process if you fill out the inquiry form on the page.
Do you create perfumes for other companies to sell?
At this time, we are only creating custom perfumes for individuals for their personal use.

Do you offer any discounts?
We do offer discounts from time to time. Sign up for our email list for a discount on your next purchase. You’ll also receive exclusive discounts and early access to sales and new product drops, as well as an inside look at what’s happening at On The Nose Perfumes.
Do you sell your perfume at any physical stores?
Currently, we are selling only online. If we do start selling through any retailers, we’ll add this information to the website. We also occasionally sell in person through pop-ups or local markets. Join our email list for news about in-person events.
